Orkin | Cicada Symphony Orkinstra

The summer of 2024 brought with it a once-in-a-lifetime emergence of the double brood Cicada, dubbed the “Cicadapocalypse.” Trillions of Cicadas sang in unison, creating the loudest natural sound invasion of our lifetimes. We seized the opportunity to showcase how Orkin goes above and beyond to fix pest issues.

We transformed this overwhelming noise into a masterpiece by partnering with Emmy-nominated composer Bryan Rheude and Orkin’s team of entomologists to create a 7-part, 45-minute symphony combining the science and sound of the cicada designed to harmonize with the Cicadas' songs.
We then held a “trillion” piece concert at the emergence epicenter and released the symphony on Spotify for those who couldn’t make the live event.
